We are a group of Chinese/Taiwanese Americans worrying about the current situation in Taiwan.  Please beware of the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Chinese/Taiwanese American communities in this country support true fairness and justice in a democratic voting process either in the U.S. or in any other part of the world.

We have to speak out loud that we believe deeply the recent presidential election process in Taiwan is highly suspicious.  We also understand that the validity of the whole election has been challenged, and there were so many unanswered questions.

At the present, we strongly urge that the election dispute must be resolved honestly on the basis of rule of law.  Our government should announce clearly that this shall be the sole and only standard used for everybody to accept a result of the election.

The leader of Taiwanese authorities should allow and protect the people’s activities questioning the fairness of the election, and must not obstruct the process of forming an independent investigation commission.  The case of “assassination against Chen Shui-Bian” and other election irregularities ought to be fully investigated, and the ballot recounting process have to be carried out immediately and comprehensively.

我們是一群非常關心台灣現況的華裔美人，在此懇請您注意一項事實：決大多數的華裔美人是支持真正公平與正義的選舉，無論此項選舉是在美國或世界任何地方！

我們必須明確的表達：我們對此次的台灣總統選舉表示高度的質疑。我們認知該項選舉是有爭議的，且其中疑雲重重。

目前，我們堅定支持以公正的方式與在法律的基礎上解決選舉的爭端。美國政府應該明確表示這是唯一承認結果的標準。

台灣的領導人應該容忍及保障人民質疑選舉不公的行動。不可以繼續拖延成立獨立調查委員會。總統槍擊案及選舉不公均應列入調查範圍內。重新驗票的行動必須是立即與全面的執行。

請不要灰心﹐也不要中了陳水扁拖延戰術的卑鄙伎倆﹐請您拿出行動來支持我們今後的抗爭活動。沉默只是姑息養奸，也就是默認偽相為真相。讓我們一起為台灣的同胞﹐也為教育我們下一代何謂真正的民主共同努力。心手相連，發揮國父孫中山和海外僑胞們當年開創中華民國的精神，堅持到底、絕不妥協！
